IT Infrastructure Project Manager (ID#3599)

We are seeking an IT Infrastructure Project Manager to help our client with the implementation of various complex projects, including changes to Network Switches, Load Balancers, Backup, SAN, Firewall, Remote Access, Voice Services and UPS infrastructure. This position requires relevant knowledge to deliver enterprise infrastructure refresh/implementation projects as well as other foundational Information Technology systems including Cisco telephony and power and cooling.

Responsibilities: 

  • Write business cases and project charters.
  • Oversee procurement and financial tracking.
  • Manage the organizational change associated with the projects.
  • Develop and facilitate project governance process to support delivery.
  • Prepare materials and facilitate discussions and decisions at Governance Committee meetings.
  • Prioritize critical project milestones and work amongst competing demands and priorities.
  • Develop project strategy and approach for stakeholder review and decisions.
  • Liaise with vendor and manage vendor resources, where required, to support project delivery.
  • Lead and performance manage project resources.
  • Ensure projects align with client standards and governance guidelines.
  • Facilitates client engagement, supporting appropriate planning and communications.
  • Manage procurement to meet project plans.
  • Issue management, escalation, and tracking.
  • Report and manage variances to project charters, budget and timelines.
  • Inform Program Management Team of project delivery risk and mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Senior Infrastructure Project Manager within an enterprise delivery organization.
  • Experience working in highly structured PMO environments is preferred.
  • PMP/Prince2 certification (ITIL accepted).
  • Experience working with facility resources to advance necessary renovation work required for IT infrastructure implementation is preferred.
  • Experience writing business cases and project charters.
  • Project management experience within Clinical Organizations is an asset.
  • Experience facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in thoroughly integrating established change management and process improvement principles into own project management style.
  • Experience coordinating and supporting changes and upgrades to Live mission critical systems.
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, Visio, Project).
  • Knowledge of PM tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Proven analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business writing skills.
  • Must be a relationship and team builder.
  • Demonstrated skills in tact and diplomacy for handling sensitive and challenging situations.
  • Advanced communication skills and be capable of translating complex technical solutions into business focused language.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage stakeholder relationships such as Senior Management Team and Executives.
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
