BizTalk Developer (ID#5153)

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a BizTalk Developer to assist with the upgrade of an enterprise integration platform from Microsoft BizTalk Server 2016 to Microsoft BizTalk Server 2020. The objective is to ensure continuity of integration services, maintain vendor support, and reduce operational risks associated with an unsupported platform.
Responsibilities:
  • Solution Conversion
    • Convert BizTalk 2016 Visual Studio solutions to BizTalk 2020 format, following the conversion guide provided by the internal team.
    • Update and refactor code as required to ensure compliance with development standards.
  • Code Quality & Standards Compliance
    • Review and adjust artifacts, schemas, maps, pipelines, and orchestrations during conversion to align with coding conventions and architectural standards.
    • Identify and remediate obsolete components or unsupported practices.
  • Testing & Validation
    • Perform unit testing on all converted solutions.
    • Document test results and resolve defects in collaboration with staff.
    • Ensure compatibility with connected systems in preparation for downstream integration testing (to be managed by internal and partner teams).
  • Technical Documentation
    • Update and maintain technical documentation to reflect changes made during the conversion process.
    • Provide commentary and traceability for modifications performed on each solution.
  • Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer
    • Work under the direction of the EIST team lead and participate in regular project meetings.
    • Provide progress updates and highlight risks or issues requiring attention.
    • Support knowledge transfer to Fraser Health staff to ensure sustainable operations post-conversion.
Requirements:
  • Working Knowledge of HL7v2 is a must
  • Hands on development experience with Microsoft Biztalk is a must
  • Experience working in healthcare
  • Experience working on large health care integration initiatives/projects
  • Hands on development experience with .NET, C#, Visual Studio
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (On-Premise)
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience working with project stakeholders, including business stakeholder, project managers, and business analysts from teams
  • Experience to create technical project documentation
  • Knowledge of FHIR, API will be an asset.
  • Experience of working in a large team environment.

The hourly rate range for this position is $50 – $75, with the final rate based on consultant experience and fit for the role.
