Network Security Administrator (ID#5098)

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Network Security Administrator to provide professional, technical, and analytical IT infrastructure and network security services. This role will support both strategic and day-to-day operations and is responsible for maintaining a secure and high-performing network environment. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Network Security Administrator will manage networking systems, security technologies, monitoring tools, and documentation standards aligned with business goals.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of the company’s IT network infrastructure, including networking and security technologies such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless networks, and telecommunications systems.
  • Manage SSL certificates for internet-facing devices and maintain accurate DNS zone records.
  • Monitor service health using tools such as SolarWinds, Zabbix, or PRTG; lead incident response and troubleshooting, ensuring root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze system logs and security platform alerts to identify, validate, and respond to security risks.
  • Perform routine infrastructure updates, vendor patches, and maintenance based on internal standards and procedures.
  • Resolve escalated tickets and participate in ongoing problem management and IT support efforts.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of infrastructure, network configurations, services, and systems.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of security policies and controls aligned with ISO 27001 and similar audit frameworks.
  • Participate in IT projects, systems upgrades, and cross-functional technical tasks.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Senior Network Administrator or Network Engineer in a mid- to large-scale environment.
  • College diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Certifications in Cisco, Palo Alto, Microsoft, or other relevant technologies are desirable (e.g., CCNP Security, CCIE, CySA+, CISSP).
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Technical Skills:
  • Proven hands-on experience with Cisco security technologies including ASA, FirePower, AnyConnect VPN, Cisco ISE, AMP, Umbrella, and Duo.
  • Deep understanding of Cisco switching, VLANs, port-channels, ACLs, VPNs, OSPF/BGP, trunking, and multicast routing.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Meraki infrastructure.
  • Experience with email security tools and gateways (Mimecast, Proofpoint, Cisco ESG, Exchange Online Protection).
  • Experience using monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds, PRTG, NiTO, or Zabbix.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance (Defender, Entra, Purview) and Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Azure, AD, SQL, IIS, PowerShell, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and presentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience supporting law firm operations is an asset.
