Oracle Licensing Specialist (ID#5053)

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a part-time Oracle Licensing Specialist to provide cost-effective best practices and reviews for Oracle products, solutions, and licensing on an ongoing, as needed basis to support various IT projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide Oracle licensing advisory services to ensure GOS remains in a compliant state.
  • Guide GOS through the audit process as needed.
  • Assist with identifying and managing licensing that can be de-supported under the existing agreement as legacy environments are turned down following the launch of the Enterprise Business Management Project (EBMP).
  • Assist with various projects to modernize applications and transition them to the Oracle cloud.
  • Develop requirements and design Oracle software request processes.
  • Assist with implementing the Oracle software request process and any applicable corporate policies.
  • Interface with Oracle’s representatives, when required.
  • Provide various ad hoc reporting and advice.
  • Provide expertise on legacy Oracle, Oracle Cloud and emerging technologies.
  • Analyze client requirements and propose cost-effective solutions for both existing and new licensing.
  • Conduct annual audits to maximize entitlements and identify deficiencies/issues.
  • Provide educational support to clients on Oracle licensing.
  • Utilize Organizational Change Management skills to lead successful change.
  • Facilitate business process mapping workshops and requirements gathering sessions.
  • Write detailed business process documentation and business and technical requirements, as well as manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform contract review and consultation with legal and procurement teams.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience with Oracle licensing.
  • Deep knowledge of Oracle’s licensing models (e.g., core factor, NUP, ULA, Java SE, Oracle Cloud).
  • Familiarity with Oracle licensing across Legacy Oracle products, Oracle Cloud (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), and Emerging Oracle technologies.
  • Experience working with or around Rimini Street’s Global License and Advisory Services, particularly Transitioning legacy Oracle systems off support, Identifying unsupported software for cost savings, and License de-support strategy planning.
  • Ability to guide clients through Oracle audits and proactively maintain compliance.
  • Conduct annual audits to maximize entitlements and identify issues.
  • Experience reviewing software licensing contracts.
  • Coordination with legal/procurement teams on compliance and renewals.
  • Capable of leading requirements gathering and process design workshops, writing detailed business and technical documentation, and managing requirements through the full project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying Organizational Change Management strategies to IT or licensing initiatives.
  • Proven ability to interact with internal clients (IT, business, legal), and external vendors, especially Oracle.
  • Able to educate and support clients on licensing concepts.

The hourly rate range for this position is $125 – $175, with the final rate based on consultant experience and fit for the role.
